Values of Zeta and L-functions

In this paper, we will discuss recent investigations into the values of zeta and L-functions at s = 0, -1, -2, ..., with particular reference to s = 0. This is especially appropriate here since three important mathematical objects bearing Dedekind's name arise in an interesting fashion: the Dedekind zeta function, Dedekind domains, and the Dedekind eta function.
