Far calculating the potential flow past an axially symmetrical and slender body, source -and sink-distributions on its surface are used. The method may be applied to bodies the cross-sections of which deviate slightly from the axially-symmetrical shape. Numerical computation is made possible by tabulating special functions for annular-shaped source-sink-distributions with constantly and periodically variable intensities. Linearisation gives a simplification of the integralequation defining source intensities and of the velocity-components on the surface. The method is applied to a axially symmetrical ellipsoid, a three-dimensional and a slender body with a triangle-like cross section.
